It was a night of glamour, excitement and well-deserved recognition as popular human-interest online news platform, Citizens Compass, clinched the coveted Online of the Year award at the 19th Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards (NMNA) 2025.
The colourful ceremony held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, and attracted top media personalities, stakeholders and industry influencers.
Citizens Compass stood out among four strong nominees to emerge winner in the highly competitive category. The platform, which began operations in April 2021, has continued to endear itself to readers through its consistent delivery of impactful, human-interest and community news stories that resonate deeply with everyday Nigerians.
Ahead of the event, NMNA Convener and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Shola Olugbemiro, announced the commencement of voting for all categories on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Citizens Compass threw its weight into the contest, mobilising its loyal readers and supporters who came out in their numbers to vote massively.
The publisher of Citizens Compass, seasoned journalist Bose Adelaja, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition.
