His death came just two days after celebrating his 90th birthday on Saturday, July 5, 2025, and exactly one year after his coronation on July 12, 2024 — a poignant coincidence that marks the end of a short but memorable reign.
Oba Olakulehin ascended the throne following the death of Oba Moshood Lekan Balogun, the 42nd Olubadan, who passed away in March 2024. His time on the throne was celebrated with traditional reverence and highlighted by events marking both his birthday and coronation anniversary.
