President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends warm congratulations to renowned journalist and publisher, Mr. Seye Kehinde, as he marks his 60th birthday on April 24, 2025.

The President commends Mr. Kehinde for his remarkable contributions to the Nigerian media landscape, particularly for establishing City People Magazine in November 1996, a platform that has significantly shaped society and lifestyle reporting in the country.

Tracing his journalism journey, Mr. Kehinde worked at African Concord until 1992 before co-founding The NEWS Magazine and TEMPO in 1993. His entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of City People, a publication that has become a staple in people-centred journalism.

Seye’s over three decades of impactful journalism—from fearless reporting and editorial work to his successful transition as a media entrepreneur—are truly inspiring. His story is a testament to what hard work, dedication, and consistency can achieve in the profession, especially for aspiring young journalists,” the President stated.

President Tinubu urges Mr. Kehinde to continue championing people-oriented journalism in this evolving digital media era and to stay committed to the values that have defined his illustrious career.
