GLOBACOM SUPPORTS EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE OF RMD’s MOVIE RADIO VOICE

Nigeria’s leading telecommunications giant, Globacom, has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the entertainment and creative industry by backing the exclusive premiere of the highly anticipated Nollywood movie, Radio Voice, produced by iconic actor Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD).

The star-studded premiere was held at the distinguished Alliance Française – Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos, and attracted a blend of Nollywood elites, government dignitaries, and prominent figures from across various sectors.

Starring a constellation of top talents including Nse Ikpe Etim, Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlawon, Damilola Adegbite, and Timini Egbuson, Radio Voice explores the struggles and triumphs of on-air personalities, shedding light on the realities of cyberbullying and societal pressure while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.

Speaking on the red carpet, RMD described the film as deeply personal and socially relevant. “It’s about the life of people on radio—their battles, their passion, and how they persevere in spite of the challenges. It’s the story of many unsung heroes behind the mic,” he said.

The film’s development is also supported by the Office of the Vice President, aligning with the Federal Government’s push to spotlight Nigeria’s creative economy and digital innovation sectors.

From a technical lens, Globacom’s backing underscores the growing synergy between telecoms infrastructure and digital storytelling in Nigeria’s entertainment value chain. With broadband penetration and mobile streaming on the rise, projects like Radio Voice are now more accessible to diverse audiences via digital platforms.

Globacom, since its inception in 2003, has established itself as a primary catalyst for creative growth, leveraging its platforms to empower talents and expand reach. The company has consistently sponsored entertainment-driven initiatives such as “Glo Naija Sings,” “X Factor,” and “Battle of the Year,” further cementing its role as a bridge between art, technology, and mass engagement.

The premiere of Radio Voice marks yet another milestone in Globacom’s evolving CSR and entertainment investment strategy—amplifying voices, both literally and figuratively.
