OKPOKO AGOG AS SOLUDO COMMISSIONS ROAD AND HOSPITAL PROJECTS
Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has commissioned the 1.345km Union Street–Ojoto Street–Adazi Ani–Owerri Road and 2.9km Mgbuka–Amazu–Emekekwe Road in Ogbaru Local Government Area.
The commissioning took place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, marking another milestone in Soludo’s infrastructure drive. So far, his administration has completed 15.623km of roads, with another 3.467km of Okpoko internal roads still under construction.
According to a report by Mazi Ejimofor Opara, once the remaining roads are completed, Okpoko will have a total of 19.9km of tarred roads, transforming a once impassable and neglected urban slum. “Soludo is not just constructing roads to connect people who were left behind—he is providing them with water, electricity, quality healthcare, free education, and more. He has uplifted the downtrodden in Okpoko, bringing light to a place once overwhelmed by darkness.”
In addition to road construction, Governor Soludo’s administration has built the first-ever general hospital in Okpoko. The hospital was commissioned in a groundbreaking ceremony by the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Ali Pate.
During the event, Professor Pate commended Soludo’s exceptional leadership, particularly in the health sector. He noted that Soludo’s efforts have significantly transformed Anambra’s healthcare landscape, with the Okpoko General Hospital standing as a prime example of this progress.
Okpoko, once a forgotten urban slum, is now experiencing a remarkable transformation under Governor Soludo. His administration’s holistic approach to development—focusing on roads, healthcare, education, and essential services—is improving residents' quality of life.
With nearly 20km of new roads, enhanced public utilities, and better healthcare access, Okpoko is emerging as a symbol of inclusive governance and infrastructure renewal in Anambra State.
