The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III), has rejected the recent Appeal Court judgment that nullified the recognition of the Iralepo Chieftaincy, stating that his legal team will immediately appeal the ruling.
In a statement signed by High Chief Kayode Oluyi, the Olisa of Isinkan Kingdom, the Iralepo-in-Council described the ruling as a threat to tradition and culture, calling on the people of Isinkan to remain calm while the legal process continues.
“Our tradition and culture are under threat, and this represents an existential challenge to our homeland. We assure our people that the Iralepo remains the rightful ruler of Isinkan Kingdom,” the statement read.
The development follows a ruling by the Appeal Court in Akure, which affirmed that Isinkan remains a quarter under the jurisdiction of the Deji of Akure. However, the Iralepo’s camp insists that the battle is far from over.
The situation is expected to escalate as both traditional stools maintain their claims, setting the stage for a fresh legal contest over the chieftaincy dispute.
