The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, has ordered the immediate suspension of Mr. Olugbenga Ojo as the Iralepo of Isikan.
This decision follows the recent ruling of the Appeal Court in Akure, which nullified the upgrading of the Iralepo Chieftaincy to a recognized title. The court declared that Isikan remains a quarter under the jurisdiction of the Deji of Akure and that any such upgrading cannot occur without the Deji’s approval.
In compliance with the court’s judgment, Oba Aladetoyinbo has directed Mr. Ojo to cease parading himself as the Iralepo in any capacity. Furthermore, all privileges associated with the title have been suspended with immediate effect.
The Deji's palace has urged the residents of Akure and Isikan Quarters to continue their daily activities without fear, emphasizing that peace and order will be maintained.
