Community leaders in Ikenga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, have commended Governor Charles Soludo for his commitment to infrastructure development, following the completion of the 10.95-kilometer road linking Igboukwu, Ikenga, Ekwulobia, and Ezinifite communities.
The new road is part of Soludo’s economic and infrastructure transformation agenda, as outlined in the 2025 state budget, and aims to improve connectivity, enhance commerce, and boost the standard of living in the region.
For the first time since its creation, the Ikenga community now has a tarred road, thanks to Governor Soludo’s commitment to grassroots development. Community leaders described the project as a game-changer, easing transportation and fostering economic growth.
According to Izuchuckwu Uzor, a community representative:
"Governor Soludo’s solution has come to our community, and this will bring huge transformation to the entire Aguata Local Government. His visionary leadership is commendable."
Soludo’s Road Infrastructure Drive
Governor Soludo has prioritized road infrastructure as part of his broader development strategy. Since assuming office, his administration has:
- Asphalted approximately 310 kilometers of roads in 30 months, ensuring unparalleled quality.
- Continued work on the Ekwulobia flyover and bus terminal, both nearing completion.
- Advanced the dualization of major federal highways, including:
- 34-kilometer Amawbia-Agulu-Ekwulobia-Uga road, linking Anambra and Imo States.
- 36-kilometer Nwagu Agulu-Nnobi-Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija road, connecting to the Onitsha-Owerri highway.
A Vision for Statewide Connectivity
Governor Soludo's administration remains committed to expanding road networks across Anambra’s 21 local government areas, ensuring better connectivity between communities and economic hubs.
The completion of the Ikenga road project is another milestone in Soludo’s efforts to transform Anambra’s infrastructure and enhance economic opportunities.
