DG NIGERIA-CHINA STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP JOINS IN CELEBRATING CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR

In recognition of the strong economic and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and China, the Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), Mr. Joseph Tegbe, has extended warm greetings to the Chinese community in Nigeria and the people of China as they celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.

In his celebratory message, Tegbe stated, "As we mark the beginning of the Year of the Snake, we reflect on the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Nigeria and China. The NCSP remains committed to deepening our bilateral ties, fostering economic cooperation, and promoting people-to-people exchanges."

The Chinese Lunar New Year, regarded as the most significant festival in China, symbolizes the arrival of spring and new beginnings. The festival, which follows the lunisolar calendar, is also widely observed in other Asian nations.

Tegbe, who recently visited China to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations, expressed his hopes that the New Year would bring prosperity, good fortune, and joy to China and its people. During his visit, he engaged in strategic discussions to reinforce cooperation in economic diversification, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and job creation, fostering mutually beneficial collaborations between the two nations.

As part of these efforts, the NCSP Director-General held discussions with China EXIM Bank and China Development Bank, reviewing priority projects under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). These talks explored various funding options to accelerate project execution, further solidifying the Nigeria-China partnership in key economic sectors.
