CARNIVAL IN WARRI AS GLO PRESENTS TOYOTA PRADO, KEKE, AND OTHER PRIZES TO PROMO WINNERS

Globacom on Thursday presented a brand-new Toyota Prado to the first winner of its customer-reward promo, Festival of Joy, at a colorful carnival ceremony held at Gloworld, Delta Mall, Warri.

The winner, 57-year-old Mr. Daniel Mayuku, the Board Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, received the prize during the presentation ceremony on Thursday, November 21. The event saw the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief Anthony Ofoni, officially hand over the keys to the elegant car.

The impressive ceremony had several notable attendees, including Hon. Karo Goru Jonathan, representing the Urhobo community in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC); Chief Anthony Ofoni, Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area; and Mrs. Anwuli Efejuku, a representative of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Delta State office. Representatives of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Okieneni and Chief Emmanuel Eyela, as well as the President of the Igbudu Market Association, Warri, Chief Rume Kugberu, were also present.

Entertainment was provided by stand-up comedian Gordons, Nollywood actor Ese Eriata, comedian M.C. Forever, and a dance performance by the Ema Dance Troupe, creating a vibrant, carnival-like atmosphere.

Mr. Mayuku recounted his initial disbelief upon receiving the call informing him he had won the Prado. "When I got the call, I thought it was a scam and immediately told the caller not to contact me again," he said. "However, after a few minutes, I started receiving calls from friends. I decided to call my friends at Glo, and they confirmed it. I was in disbelief. I jokingly asked for the car immediately and was told to come to the Glo office for verification. Today, the jeep has just been presented to me. Globacom is truly Nigerian—a network that delights its subscribers every year. They are still the best."

Other winners at the event included Ovueve Efejiro, a native of Ughelli, who won a tricycle (Keke). Overjoyed, she said, "I just won a Keke through the Festival of Joy promo. I am very grateful to Glo. This Keke will help my family. My brother will use it for commercial purposes immediately."

Similarly, Felix Gabriel, who won a power generator, expressed his appreciation for Globacom, saying, "Globacom always remembers Nigerians in its annual promos."

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, who was the special guest, commended Globacom for its generosity. "Globacom is a network known for giving," he noted. "Over the years, many Nigerians have been empowered by Glo. The people of my constituency in Warri South West and the entire Delta are grateful to Glo. We will continue to use Glo, and I also hope to win one day. Kudos to Glo and our own Dr. Mike Adenuga."

Mrs. Anwuli Efejuku, Head of Licensing and Operations at the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Delta State office, praised Globacom for the transparency of the promo. She said, "We witnessed the raffle draw a few days ago here in Warri, where it was conducted in the presence of everyone, and today, the winners have been presented their prizes."

Globacom’s Regional Manager, Warri, Mr. Frederick Oiboh, explained how customers can participate in the Festival of Joy promo:

“Customers can simply dial *611# and keep recharging. New customers can also participate by purchasing a new Glo SIM, registering it, and dialing *611#. Customers need to recharge cumulatively up to:

N100,000 during the promo period to qualify for the draw for the Prado Jeep.

N50,000 for a Kia Picanto.

N10,000 in a month for a tricycle.

N5,000 in a month to win a generator.

N2,500 in a month for a sewing machine.

N500 in a day for a grinding machine.

Another prize presentation is scheduled to take place in Lagos, where more Nigerians will win prizes, including another brand-new Toyota Prado, Kia Picanto car, tricycles, and more.
