The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has relieved Mr. Adeboye Taofiq Ewenla, the Special Assistant on Forestry (Central Senatorial District), of his duties with immediate effect.
This action comes in response to allegations of bribery and intimidation brought against Mr. Ewenla by some timber merchants in the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has also directed a thorough investigation into the activities of those responsible for managing the state’s forest reserves.
A replacement for Mr. Ewenla will be announced soon.
The Governor called on all political appointees to adhere strictly to the law and the guidelines governing their responsibilities.
