BREAKING: CEO ACCESS HOLDINGS, HERBERT WIGWE, WIFE AND SON DIE IN CHOPPER CRASH IN CALIFORNIA
Herbert Wigwe, the group chief executive officer of Access Holdings Plc, was involved in a helicopter crash in the United States, on Friday.
Sources said the chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California on Friday night. Also on board is Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group). The US government confirmed all on board dead.
Six passengers were onboard, however, no survivors found so far.
Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe was born on 15 August 1966 in Ibadan.
He is currently CEO of Access Holdings Plc, traded as Access Corporation.
He was the Group Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank plc, one of Nigeria’s top five banking institutions, after succeeding his business partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede from January 2014 till April 2022.
