AKETI ETERNAL: FORMER ONDO SPEAKER, ABDULSALAM BIDS AKETI FAREWELL

...Indeed! An icon has exited.

I am deeply saddened to pen these words in memory of your tremendous leadership and unalloyed commitment to the people of Ondo State and beyond. As the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly and someone who had the privilege to serve under your administration, I can attest to the fact that you were a brave and decisive leader, a true "Talk and Do" Governor, and the voice of the voiceless.

Your legacy as the architect of the South West Security Network Amotekun stands as an attestation to your dedication to protecting the lives and properties of the people. Your fight against open grazing and banditry has left an indelible mark not only in Ondo State but across the entire South West and Southern Nigeria. Your tireless efforts to ensure the safety and security of the people will forever be remembered and cherished.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have served under your leadership as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Legislative Matters and later as the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Ondo State. Your guidance and wisdom have left an unforgettable mark on my life and career, and I am privileged to have been a part of your administration.

Your legacies are undaunted and unmatched. Your type of leadership is rare, and your impact has been felt far and wide. You were indeed a saint sent to your people, and you effectively delivered on your mandate with unparalleled dedication and selflessness.

As we mourn your passing, we take solace in the fact that your memory will live on for a lifetime. Your vision, courage, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of society will continue to inspire generations to come. Your exemplary leadership has left an enduring legacy that will forever be cherished by the people whose lives you touched.

May God grant you eternal rest and may your remarkable legacy continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the honor of being touched by your leadership.

With heartfelt condolences,

Rt Hon Abdulsalam Taofeek Olawale
