All road leads to Orun Ekiti, Ekiti state on Saturday 11th, November 2023 as Oba Joshua O. Osalusi JP, the Olorun of Orun Ekiti will be honouring Otunba Ladi Owolabi the Managing Director / CEO of Universal Assurance Consult Brokers with an Award of Excellence as kabiyesi celebrates his 3 in 1 event.
The 3 in 1 event comprises Kabiyesi's 50 years on the throne, his 90th birthday celebration; and 10 years of Autonomy and / Launching of a 50 million naira palace fund. The event will take place at Akinluyi's hall, opposite AUD Nursery/Primary School, Orun Ekiti by 10 am.
Otunba Ladi Owolabi an industrious son of Ado Ekiti and Orun Ekiti will be honoured with an Award of Excellence which he said he holds in high esteem.
According to Oga Ladi, as fondly called by friends and associates, he said, am grateful to Kabiyesi, Oba Joshua O. Osalusi JP, the Olorun of Orun Ekiti and the Orun Development Association for honouring him. Though it's not the first honour he is receiving but it's the first award coming from his maternal grandmother's town and that makes it special to him, having grown up in Orun Ekiti and this made him see it as an honour and privilege coming from his people.
Otunba Ladi is leaving no stone unturned as he received the prestigious award.
BRIEF ABOUT OTUNBA LADI OWOLABI
Otunba Ladi Owolabi is the Managing Director/CEO of Universal Assurance Consult Brokers Abuja was born in Ado Ekiti into the families of Pa Owolabi and Princess Oja Omogbolare of Ojido quarters, Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti.
He’s the Manager/Head International Department, Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation, and he’s a consultant to various government agencies and parastatals. He served as Executive Director, of Northern Operations Mutual Benefit Assurance PLC, was Managing Director, of Lister Insurance Company, Ibadan, and was the Manager / Head of Training and Development National Insurance Commission Abuja and also Managing Director, of Crystal Insurance Company.
Otunba Ladi Owolabi is a visiting lecturer at the prestigious West Africa Insurance Institute, Banjul Gambia; and a lecturer at the Nigeria Insurance Institute Lagos and the Nigeria Re-insurance Training School Lagos.
Otunba Ladi Owolabi holds an MBA in corporate finance from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Accounts from Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko; a fellow of the West Africa Insurance Institute, Monrovia, Liberia; and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London.
A philanthropist and lover of the Ekiti people Otunba Ladi Owolabi is a central figure in the emancipation of the masses and less privileged in the society, he’s an apostle of bringing the total dividends of democracy to the people of Ekiti state an action which has earned him accolades, awards and titles from various quarters around Nigeria, these include; Otunbafiwagboye of Igbara-Odo Ekiti and Otunba Asiwajugbore of Orin Ekiti; he’s a recipient of the Ado Ekiti Progressive Union Merit Award of Excellence a member of the Abuja Golf Club, Ado Ekiti Dynamic Club, Club One Ado Ekiti, he’s an active member of the planning committee of the annual Udiroko Festival of Ado Ekiti.
Otunba Ladi Owolabi is the founder and sole sponsor of the Otunba Ladi Owolabi Football Competition which is held annually in Ado Ekiti. He’s married and the union is blessed with successful children.
