POWA/ NAWOJ: CHAIRPERSON POWA, MRS ALICE ASABI PLEDGE TO CHAMPION GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWERMENT OF THE LESS PRIVILEGED AND WIDOWS IN ONDO STATE

The New Ondo state Chairperson of  Police Officer's  Wives Association (POWA) Mrs Alice Jemila Asabi has promised to join hands with other associations in reaching out to the less privileged in the state.

Mrs  Asabi gave the assurance at the police headquarters, Igbatoro Akure after her husband assumed duty in the state as the 43rd Commissioner of Police.

She promised that her office would collaborate with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo state chapter in promoting a gender-friendly state.

"I will ensure I discharge my duties adequately to a  reasonable extent by meeting the needs of the less privileged and  widows in the state"

Mrs. Asabi charged Ondo Residents to work with her husband to achieve a crime-free state.

"With the help of God, there is nothing we cannot achieve. With the cooperation of the citizens of Ondo State, I believe things will work out fine.

She enjoined wives of police officers in the state to work effectively with them to make POWA more productive. 

"I will ensure I reach out to the wives of officers and ensure we all work together to move the association forward with the help of God.

Welcoming the New Ondo POWA chairperson, chairperson NAWOJ, Ondo state, chapter, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi who described her husband's deployment to Ondo state as homecoming, said NAWOJ was ready to partner with the Police Officers' Wives Association.

Comrade Gbadamosi charged her to key into many programmes of NAWOJ aimed at protecting the interests of women and girls in society.
