A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Barr. John Adanike has approached the federal high court in Akure again, for his illegal exclusion from the just concluded Akoko South East/ Akoko South West Federal constituency House of representatives primary election conducted on Tuesday 29/11/2022 held at St Patrick College Iwaro Oka Akoko which produce Hon Gboyega Adefarati former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs as the party candidate again.
According to him, the Tuesday 29th November 2022 election that produce Gboyega Adefarati should be cancelled because he (Adanike) was excluded from the exercise and as an aspirant, he has the right to challenge the result and approach the court of law. He said I have only returned to court to ask for the interpretation of Section 84 subsection 3 of the electoral Act 2022 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.
In his message sent to this medium, it stated that "I'm in the court to file for my illegal exclusion from the house of reps primary of my party APC conducted last Tuesday 29/11/2022 at St Patrick College Iwaro Oka Akoko against Section 84 subsection 3 of electoral Act 2022 and is the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended".
It will recall that some of the aspirants of Akoko South-East / South-West federal constituency had approached the court over the emergence of Mr Gboyega Adefarati, former commissioner and Son of former Governor Adefarati as the candidate of the party for the 2023 general election. And October 13th, 2022, the court ordered a fresh primary election for Akoko South East/ South-West Federal Constituency for APC. The reelection for the race was held on the 29th of November and Hon. Adefarati emerged as the party (APC) candidate for 2023.
