NEWS FLASH: READ WHY PDP ONDO SCREENING COMMITTEE DISQUALIFIED TWO ASPIRANTS

Ahead of the Ondo governorship election, the People's Democratic party (PDP) primary election schedule for July 22nd, 2020, two of the nine aspirants jostling to clinch the party’s ticket for the October 10 governorship election were disqualified.
Yakubu Dogara-led screening panel declared the two candidates ineligible to partake in the party’s primary.
Dogara told reporters after the exercise, “Unfortunately, two of our aspirants did not pass the litmus test.”
It was gathered that one of the disqualified aspirants was screened out for confliction in names while the other was not been able to present voters’ card.
“I can confirm to you that one of the disqualified aspirants had completely different names on his certificates and the other one didn’t have a voters card.” The source said.
On the other hand, Ondo state Deputy Gov. Agboola Ajayi, Banji Okunomo, Eddy Olafeso, Boluwaji Kunlere, Bode Ayorinde, Sola Ebiseni and Eyitayo Jegede were cleared to contest. Godday Erewa and Akingboye were stepped down from the Party’s primary election.
Dogara however declared that the two are free to approach the appeal committee which sits on Monday to seek redress.
