As new fresh facts have emerged on how the Ondo state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro suddenly died yesterday.
A family member Alhaji Imran Fadola who received the Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh AbdulHakeem Yayi Akorede at the Crown Hospital complex told us that his brother’s death is not COVID19 Related, he said he died of stress as he had actually over worked himself.
While his junior brother who was at the hospital said the late Commissioner was a diabetes patient.

According to Fadola, he didn’t die of Covid19. He was in the hospital here on Tuesday but fainted while carrying out surgery on a patient.
The surgery was concluded by another doctor. After he was revived, he was advised not to go to the hospital on Wednesday for him to have enough rest. He refused and sneaked out to the hospital to attend to official matters.
“He was very okay on Wednesday before this morning (Thursday) when he decided that he should be taken to FMC, Owo for check up. We then heard the unfortunate news”, he said.
His death however caused panic among health officials and members of the Ondo State Task Force on COVID-19.
Sympathizers are now trooping to his residence at Crown Hospital, Oja-Oshodi Akure to sympathize with his family members.
Meanwhile a statement by the state government says Dr Adegbenro will be remembered for being a dogged fighter who fought with his last breath to ensure the state is safe from covid19.
The statement signed by information commissioner, Donald Ojogo read in part:
“The least we can do for this Medical Hero is to plant a seed of honour for him. Accordingly, the Ondo State Government has directed that all flags in the State must fly at half mast for 7Days from today Thursday, 2nd of July, 2020.
Similarly, the Ondo State Government has declared today Friday 3rd July a work free day to honour the late Commissioner.
