The Group Chairman, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi on Thursday congratulated Muslim faithful across the nation on the occasion of Eid-el-kabir.
Stressing the importance of putting the virtues of sacrifice and the significance of the occasion into practice beyond the season, the chieftain of the People's Democratic Party in Osun State tasked Muslims on obedience and dedication.
In the congratulatory message made available to pressmen in Osogbo, Osun State capital, the insurance guru further urged the Muslim faithful to pray fervently for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic that has been ravaging countries all over the world, including Nigeria.
His words, ''I bring to our Muslims brothers and sisters warm greetings. Eid-el-Kabir is the second of two biggest Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year.
"Surely, it is not just a historical event. It is more. With only one son left in his household Ibrahim (PBUH) encounters his greatest test but it is one that opens for us a greater understanding of how merciful the Almighty Allah is."
"Here, we find a direct connection between genuine leadership, agreement, loyalty, momentous sacrifice, obedience and the Most Merciful."
"In this view, beyond the merriments and ecstasy of the season, we must learn to sustain the imports of the highly significant event and replicate the same in our daily lives for a better society."
