Ahead of the October 10th Governorship election, INEC had released the list of the 17 political parties and it's Deputy Governor candidate for the election. The released came as shocked to many as PDP Governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede was said to have picked another running mate aside the two nomiees that was speculated during the week. Eyitayo Jegede will be contesting the October 10th Ondo Governorship election with Olumide Ogunje.

Olumide Ogunje has been picked has the running mate to PDP candidate in the October 10 governorship election in Ondo state, can authoritatively report.

Ogunje is from Irele and Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Ikengboju Gboluga who many believed will be picked as Jegede’s running mate.

The name of Ogunje is contained in the provisional names of candidates and their deputies as released by INEC on Friday, July 31.

Though the INEC rule still provides for name substitution before August 18, 2020, the party or candidate must submit a name as deputy to INEC which has now been published today Friday, July 31.
