Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc has paid more than ₦3.9 billion in insurance claims across its Life and General Insurance businesses in June 2026, reinforcing its commitment to prompt claims settlement and strengthening confidence in Nigeria's insurance industry.
The company said the payments, made to individuals, families and businesses across the country, demonstrate its financial strength and continued dedication to supporting policyholders during difficult times.
The insurer noted that beyond the amount paid, the true impact of insurance is reflected in the experiences of customers whose claims were settled promptly, enabling them to recover from unexpected losses and continue with their personal and business activities.
One customer whose motor insurance claim was recently settled praised the company's efficiency and professionalism.
"Reliable company. I appreciate your attention to details. Thank you for your excellent services and very quick response to claims. Thank you very much. I really appreciate," the policyholder said.
Another customer, whose Goods-in-Transit claim was paid under the company's General Accident Insurance policy, also commended Mutual Benefits for its transparent and seamless claims process.
"I sincerely appreciate the prompt attention given to my claim. The process was smooth, transparent and handled with a high level of professionalism. Thank you, Mutual Benefits, for standing by your promise and settling my claim without unnecessary delays," the customer stated.
Commenting on the development, Executive Director (Technical), Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Joseph Oladokun, said prompt claims settlement remains the strongest evidence of an insurer's commitment to its customers.
According to him, the company has continued to strengthen its claims management process to ensure valid claims are assessed and settled quickly, professionally and transparently.
"At Mutual Benefits, we understand that the true value of insurance is demonstrated at the point of claim. This is why we have continued to strengthen our claims management processes to ensure valid claims are assessed and settled promptly, transparently and professionally," he said.
Oladokun added that the payment of over ₦3.9 billion in claims within one month reflects the company's financial capacity and determination to provide policyholders with timely financial support whenever losses occur.
He noted that every claim settled represents a promise fulfilled, stressing that the company remains focused on delivering a claims experience built on speed, empathy and professionalism.
The company also said consistent settlement of valid claims remains one of the strongest indicators of an insurer's credibility and financial stability, adding that prompt claims payment helps build public confidence in insurance as an effective financial protection tool.
