LAGOS POLICE SENSITISE OFFICERS ON INSURANCE, WELFARE SCHEMES

The Lagos State Police Command has organised a sensitization programme on insurance and welfare schemes for its officers as part of ongoing efforts by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to strengthen the welfare and financial security of personnel.

The lecture, held at the command headquarters, was facilitated by the Force Insurance Section and focused on creating awareness about the various insurance and welfare packages available to officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

Delivering the lecture, ACP Ameh Lydia of the Force Insurance Section highlighted the Inspector-General's commitment to improving the welfare of officers and men of the Force through comprehensive insurance and support initiatives.

She educated participants on the structure and functions of the Force Insurance Section, explaining the benefits of key welfare schemes, including the Group Life Assurance Scheme, Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme, Group Personal Accident Scheme, and the IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme.

Lydia also introduced officers to the newly established Voluntary Contributions Scheme, describing it as an additional platform designed to enhance their long-term financial security.

In addition, she informed officers about the ongoing sale of shares in the Nigeria Police Force Insurance Company, encouraging interested personnel to take advantage of the investment opportunity.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising the welfare of police personnel and appreciated the Force Insurance Section for organising the sensitisation programme.

He urged officers to maximise the opportunities provided through the various insurance and welfare schemes, noting that improved welfare remains critical to boosting morale, enhancing productivity and promoting effective service delivery.

The sensitisation forms part of the Nigeria Police Force's broader efforts to improve officers' welfare through enhanced insurance coverage, financial protection and sustainable support programmes.
