GLO UPGRADES ‘BORROW ME CREDIT’ SERVICE, EXPANDS AIRTIME AND DATA ACCESS FOR SUBSCRIBERS

Telecommunications giant Globacom has enhanced its popular "Borrow Me Credit" service, making it easier for millions of prepaid subscribers to access emergency airtime and data whenever they run low on credit.

The upgrade is part of the company's ongoing commitment to improving customer experience and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for subscribers across Nigeria.

In a statement released in Lagos, Globacom announced that it has simplified the eligibility requirements for the service, enabling more active prepaid customers to qualify for instant airtime and data advances when needed.

The company explained that while the service attracts applicable charges, its primary objective is to provide timely support that helps customers stay connected for personal, academic, and business purposes.

A major highlight of the enhanced platform is the introduction of new features, including "Borrow Special Data" and "Borrow Airtime/Data for Others." These additions allow subscribers to not only borrow for themselves but also support friends and family members who may need airtime or data urgently.

According to Globacom, the innovations are designed to strengthen digital connectivity and promote a greater sense of community among users of the network.

The telecom operator noted that the service is particularly useful during emergencies, urgent business transactions, online learning activities, and situations where immediate access to communication services is essential.

To accommodate different customer needs, the upgraded platform offers flexible airtime and data packages ranging from as low as ₦25 to ₦4,000, providing options suitable for light, moderate, and heavy users.

Globacom further explained that borrowing limits are determined by each subscriber's usage profile and overall engagement on the network. Customers who maintain consistent activity on the network are eligible for higher borrowing limits and access to larger data packages.

The company stated that the structured borrowing model not only ensures the sustainability of the service but also rewards loyal and active customers with credit facilities that align with their communication and digital lifestyle needs.

Industry observers say the enhancement comes at a time when reliable access to mobile communication and internet services has become increasingly important for work, education, financial transactions, and social interactions.

By expanding access to emergency airtime and data solutions, Globacom is positioning the service as a practical tool that helps subscribers remain connected regardless of temporary financial constraints.

Eligible prepaid subscribers can access the service by dialing *303# and selecting their preferred airtime or data option. Additional information regarding eligibility criteria, borrowing limits, and applicable service charges is available through Globacom's official customer channels.

The latest upgrade reinforces Globacom's focus on customer-centric innovation and its commitment to delivering convenient digital solutions that support the everyday communication needs of Nigerians.
