A new artificial intelligence-powered marketing platform, AdAgencyGPT, has been unveiled at the MarkHack 5.0 conference in Lagos, with its creators describing it as an end-to-end agency intelligence system built specifically for African markets.
The platform was unveiled by Tomi Davies, Collaborator-in-Chief of TVC Labs, during the event held at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos. Developed through a collaborative effort involving Davies, Dr. Victor Bobade Afolabi and a team of marketing strategists, AI specialists and technologists, the platform is designed to support the entire marketing workflow, from audience segmentation and campaign strategy development to creative execution and campaign validation.
Speaking during the unveiling, Davies said AdAgencyGPT goes beyond the capabilities of traditional chatbots and generic writing tools by combining artificial intelligence with decades of African marketing expertise and cultural intelligence.
According to him, the platform has been designed around African consumer behaviour, regional language nuances, FMCG activation models and informal market dynamics, while also drawing from decades of accumulated marketing and cultural intelligence.
He explained that the system enables marketing teams to move from campaign brief to boardroom-ready strategy within minutes, significantly reducing the time and resources traditionally required to develop marketing campaigns.
Demonstrating the platform's capabilities, Davies cited a startup recruitment campaign targeting Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Using a brief to recruit 500 startup founders within eight weeks on a N4 million budget, the platform generated audience segmentation by city, channel recommendations, budget allocation, activation timelines, creative assets and campaign validation reports.
The presentation showcased tailored communication approaches for different markets, including social media content, WhatsApp broadcasts and radio scripts adapted to local cultural contexts.
Davies described the technology as a form of collaborative AI that becomes more intelligent as more campaign briefs, marketing outputs and consumer insights are processed through the system. He noted that the platform's intelligence is structured, tested and calibrated for African business environments rather than relying solely on publicly available internet data.
The creators said AdAgencyGPT was built to democratise access to high-level marketing intelligence and is expected to be available through a subscription-based model that will allow agencies, brands, startups and marketing professionals to access advanced campaign planning capabilities on demand.
Beyond the technology, the unveiling paid tribute to the pioneers of Nigeria's advertising industry. Davies dedicated the launch to the memory of Obadeyi, the "D" in ROD Publicity, regarded as Nigeria's first indigenous advertising agency.
Industry stakeholders at the event viewed the launch as a significant step in the development of homegrown AI solutions aimed at addressing the unique realities of African markets and businesses.
MarkHack 5.0, founded by Dr. Victor Gbenga Afolabi, brought together marketing professionals, technology experts, innovators and business leaders to explore the future of marketing, technology and artificial intelligence across Africa.
