IKEJA LG CHAIRMAN SEEKS STRONGER SECURITY PARTNERSHIP AS IKEJA PCRC PAYS COURTESY VISIT

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening community-based security and intelligence gathering as he received members of the Ikeja Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) on a courtesy visit at the council secretariat.

The PCRC delegation, led by its Patron, Otunba Anthony Isaac, and Chairman, Chief Anthony Obi, congratulated the chairman on the successful celebration of his 100 working days in office, describing his performance as impressive and impactful within a short time.

They commended Dauda’s administration for prioritising human capital development, improving the security of lives and property, promoting a business-friendly environment across Ikeja, and recording notable progress in the development of primary education within the local government.

Responding, the Ikeja LG boss expressed gratitude to the PCRC for its continued dedication to fostering peaceful and safe communities. He stressed that effective security could only be achieved through sustained collaboration between the local government and community-based security stakeholders.

According to him, intelligence sharing, community engagement and synergy with security agencies remain critical to safeguarding lives and property in Ikeja.

“We must continue to work closely to strengthen our security architecture through proactive community intelligence and partnership. Security is a collective responsibility,” Dauda said.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abiola Omisore, and the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko.

Also present was a prominent APC apex leader in Ikeja, Apostle Olowoporoku, who applauded the chairman for what he described as unprecedented developmental strides and people-oriented initiatives being implemented across the local government.

The visit, stakeholders noted, further underscored the importance of collaboration between government and community structures in sustaining peace, development and inclusive governance in Ikeja.
