IKEJA LG CHAIRMAN AKOD PRESIDES OVER SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING, PLEDGES CONTINUOUS SUPPORT TO AGENCIES


The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has reiterated his administration’s commitment to community safety and inter-agency cooperation as he presided over the council’s monthly Peace and Security Council Meeting held at the Ikeja House Office.

The meeting, held on Monday, brought together heads of all security agencies operating within the council area as well as major community stakeholders. Among those in attendance were the Chairperson of the Community Development Committee (CDC), representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams, and the Regent of Ikeja.


During the closed-door session, security chiefs presented detailed reports on the security situation within the local government over the past month, highlighting emerging challenges, proactive interventions, and progress made in maintaining law and order.

Chairman Akeem Olalekan Dauda, in his remarks, commended the security agencies for their tireless efforts in ensuring peace and stability across the Ikeja axis. He urged them to remain vigilant and proactive in responding to threats while assuring them of the council’s unwavering support and cooperation.

“We appreciate your sacrifices and continued efforts in keeping Ikeja safe. My administration remains fully committed to supporting all security agencies and fostering collaboration that ensures lasting peace,” AKOD stated.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge from both the council and the security agencies to strengthen intelligence sharing, deepen community engagement, and uphold collective responsibility for a safer Ikeja.
