Founder of Event Diary Lifestyle and Convener of the Young Girls In School Initiative, Princess Adeola Shittu, has called for greater appreciation and recognition of teachers across Nigeria, describing them as “unsung heroes whose contributions go far beyond the classroom.”
In her message to mark this year’s World Teachers’ Day, Princess Shittu commended educators for their unwavering dedication to building the nation through knowledge and values. She emphasized that teachers remain central to the country’s growth and the development of future leaders.
“Teachers are the silent builders of nations. Every successful child carries the imprint of a teacher who cared, guided, and inspired them to become better,” she stated.
The media entrepreneur and education advocate further noted that despite numerous challenges within the education sector, Nigerian teachers continue to display resilience, creativity, and passion in fulfilling their calling. She urged both government and private organizations to invest more in teacher welfare, training, and recognition.
Princess Shittu reiterated her commitment to promoting education and mentorship through the Young Girls In School Initiative, a project of Event Diary Lifestyle that focuses on empowering young girls and celebrating those who nurture their learning journey.
“If we must secure the future of our children and our nation, then we must continue to honour and support our teachers,” she added.
She concluded by wishing all teachers a Happy World Teachers’ Day, celebrating their invaluable contributions to human development and societal progress.
