Access Holdings Plc has announced plans to host a breast cancer awareness walk as part of activities marking this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative, tagged “Access Walk Against Cancer,” is aimed at promoting early detection, encouraging regular medical checks, and strengthening community education on breast cancer.
The walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, and will commence at Access Towers, Lagos, proceed to Muri Okunola Park and return to Access Towers. Staff members, partners, volunteers, and members of the public are expected to participate.
Speaking on the initiative, the Programme Manager, Health, Access Holdings, Esther Graham, said the organisation remains committed to supporting public health advocacy and improving access to life-saving information.
“At Access Holdings, we believe that health is the foundation of progress. The Access Walk Against Cancer is not just an awareness exercise, but a call for collective responsibility to protect and preserve lives,” she said.
The event is being organised in partnership with Hacey Health Initiative and Sebeccly Cancer Support Centre, with plans to offer free health screenings to over 300 women during the exercise. Participants will also engage in wellness activities, interactive sessions and receive educational materials on breast cancer prevention and care.
Breast cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women globally, despite increased awareness efforts. However, experts maintain that early detection significantly improves survival rates.
Access Holdings encouraged members of the public to join the walk, noting that participation is open to everyone.
Registration for the Access Walk Against Cancer 2025 is currently ongoing.
