The Nigerian Army School of Signal (NASS) has applauded Globacom for its unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s growth and development, while seeking collaboration with the telecoms giant to strengthen the training of officers and men of the armed forces.
During a courtesy visit to Globacom’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, the Commandant of NASS, Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, praised Glo’s consistent demonstration of a strong Nigerian outlook and disposition since inception over two decades ago. He noted that the company has continued to extend the frontiers of Nigerian excellence through its indigenous focus.
Emphasising the importance of civil–military collaboration, Major General Osemwegie said the Signals School would be proud to partner with Glo Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Globacom, in fulfilling its academic and professional training mandate.
“The Nigerian Army School of Signal remains the hub of ICT and communications training for Army personnel and some paramilitary organisations. Strategic alliances with leading corporates such as Globacom will enhance the delivery of our mandate,” he stated.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of Globacom’s management, Mrs. Mojisola Ashieru Sweet, Director of Strategy and Board Affairs, reaffirmed the company’s pride in being an indigenous organisation driving transformative change across Nigeria. She expressed Glo’s readiness to collaborate with NASS on critical areas of need.
According to her, possible areas of collaboration include the deployment of the Glo Smart Learning Suite’s Learning Management System (LMS), customised to meet the needs of educational institutions. The platform provides tools for digital content delivery, online testing, live classes, performance reporting, instant messaging, and video conferencing.
She added that the solution also integrates an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for seamless school administration and comes with bundled data to guarantee uninterrupted access for students and instructors.
The courtesy visit underscores the shared commitment of the Nigerian Army and Globacom to harness technology for national development, capacity building, and stronger civil–military relations.
