The ancient town of Ila-Orangun, Osun State, has been thrown into mourning following the death of Olori Abosede Funmilayo Oyedotun, the Olori Esaya and wife of the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Iyanda Oyedotun, Bibire I.
According to palace sources, Olori Abosede passed away after a brief illness, leaving the royal family and the community in deep grief. She was widely respected for her humility, generosity, and contributions to social and cultural development in Ila-Orangun.
Since the news of her passing broke, sympathizers have continued to throng the palace to condole with the Orangun and members of the royal family.
Olori Abosede Funmilayo was described by many as a pillar of support to the king and a mother figure to the people of Ila.
Details of funeral arrangements are expected to be released by the palace in due course.
