The milestone event kicks off with a Thanksgiving Service on Thursday, 14th August 2025, at Abundant Life Gospel Church, 69 Iju Road, Agege, Lagos. The service, scheduled for 11:00 AM, will feature a powerful 60 minutes of non-stop praise, described as the spiritual heartbeat of the celebration.
Speaking with Event Diary Lifestyle, the celebrant’s elegant wife and Chief Host, Deaconess Kemi Adewumi, shared the inspiration behind the thanksgiving service:
“August 14 is the main day Otunba clocks 60. As a way of giving gratitude to God, there will be 60 minutes of non-stop praise in church. It’s a moment of deep reflection and joyful thanksgiving. We are inviting some of the biggest gospel singers to lead the worship.”
Guests attending the thanksgiving are encouraged to dress in all shades of blue, with a polite request to avoid white outfits.
Speaking further, Deaconess Kemi Adewumi added that all roads will lead to the prestigious Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotels & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, 16th August 2025, for the grand birthday reception scheduled for 1:00 PM prompt.
Guests are expected to dazzle in customized Aso Oke on all shades of Gold outfit, as the celebration promises an atmosphere of elegance, class, and cultural sophistication.
“We are leaving no stone unturned as we celebrate this ICON at 60,” she said.
