FORMER OSUN DEPUTY GOVERNOR, ERELU OLUSOLA OBADA, LOSES HUSBAND


The family of former Osun State Deputy Governor and ex-Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, has been thrown into mourning following the passing of her husband, Otunba Felix Obada.

Otunba Obada reportedly died in the early hours of Thursday, June 12, at a Lagos hospital, after weeks on his sick bed. His passing marks the end of a quiet but impactful life spent supporting public service, family, and community development.

A respected elder and gentleman, Otunba Obada was well known in political and social circles for his dignified presence and unwavering support for his wife’s political career. Erelu Obada served as the Deputy Governor of Osun State from 2003 to 2010 and was later appointed Minister of State for Defence during President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Condolences have continued to pour in from across the country, with political figures, community leaders, and well-wishers extolling the late Otunba’s humility, wisdom, and dedication to family values.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in the coming days.
