... Strengthening Leadership to Drive Growth in a Key African Market
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has announced the appointment of Abdallah Simba as the new General Manager for its Nigerian operations, effective May 1, 2025.

He began his career with JTI in Tanzania in 2005 in the Marketing function, before taking on an international assignment in Ireland in 2009. Over the years, he transitioned into broader commercial roles, leading Sales and Trade Marketing teams with increasing responsibility. In 2013, Abdallah moved to Geneva, where he held senior positions within the Global Commercial Strategy team. There, he played a pivotal role in optimising business models, guiding market strategies, and developing commercial capabilities across diverse markets.
Most recently, Abdallah served as Country Manager for Slovakia, where he led the company through a period of profitable multicategory growth and strengthened operations for long-term sustainability.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University.
Abdallah’s appointment underscores JTI’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Nigeria and driving sustainable business growth. He succeeds Thomas Adams, who successfully led the Nigerian business for the past four years.
