As part of its ongoing mission to promote humanitarian service, health support, and social reintegration, the Apeke Dynasty Foundation recently carried out a transformative outreach at Kirikiri Correctional Facility.
The outreach began with a comprehensive medical intervention, which included: Health check-ups and consultations, Distribution of essential medications and One-on-one health counselling and education sessions
This initiative aimed to address immediate medical concerns, improve hygiene, and foster better health awareness among inmates.
Following the medical sessions, the Foundation team engaged in one-on-one conversations with inmates, offering empathy, encouragement, and hope. During this engagement, the case of a female inmate was brought to our attention by another individual with a more severe condition.
Upon meeting her, she recounted how a minor civil misunderstanding involving a misplaced phone and missing money led to her unjust incarceration.
Deeply moved by her story, the Foundation immediately took action by contacting a legal practitioner connected to the case. A detailed conversation followed to understand the legal background and determine the next steps. Inspired by the Foundation’s mission, the lawyer graciously agreed to take up the case pro bono.
With the lawyer’s support, the Foundation visited the court to follow up on the legal proceedings, ensuring that all necessary documentation and processes were completed without delay.
Thanks to the seamless collaboration between the Foundation, the legal counsel, and correctional authorities, the female inmate was released from custody and has since reunited with her family.
As a gesture of gratitude, the Foundation also presented a token of appreciation to the lawyer for his generous and selfless service.
Apeke Dynasty Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to:
- Our dedicated outreach team
- Volunteer medical professionals
- Legal personnel who supported the cause
- All donors and supporters whose contributions made the outreach possible
This intervention underscores the Foundation’s core values: compassion, justice, and empowerment. We remain steadfast in our mission to restore dignity to the underserved and bring hope where it is needed most.
