ADRON HOMES REFUTES FIJ’S MISLEADING REPORT, SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Adron Homes & Properties Ltd. has become aware of a recent report published by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) on May 22, 2025. The article alleges that our company failed to refund a land payment to a client, Mr. Solomon Oludare Akinbo, who reportedly made full payment for a plot at our Treasure Park and Garden, Phase 2, located in Shimawa, Ogun State.

We are deeply disappointed that FIJ published such serious allegations without making any attempt to contact us for verification. The report contains significant misrepresentations which we categorically reject as malicious, defamatory, and misleading. We must clarify the facts, both for the public and for our valued clients who continue to place their trust in us.

First and foremost, Adron Homes have never denied Mr Akinbo his rightful plot allocation or refused his refund request. In fact, a provisional allocation was made to him in alignment with his stated intent to commence building on the plot. Our allocation policy—clearly outlined in the Contract of Sale signed by Mr. Akinbo—requires a formal written notice of readiness to build before final allocation can proceed. This policy ensures organized development and helps prevent underutilized or abandoned plots within our estates.

Furthermore, Mr. Akinbo voluntarily requested that Adron Homes manage the construction of his building. He personally selected a design and was presented with a detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for review. At no point were Mr. Akinbo or his legal representative coerced into accepting this proposal, contrary to the claims made. Our clients are always free to engage any certified builder or construction engineer of their choosing.

The assertion that Adron Homes solicited additional payments from Mr. Akinbo is entirely false and unsubstantiated. Such claims are defamatory and appear designed to damage our corporate reputation. We urge the public to disregard these inaccuracies entirely.

With regard to the refund request, Adron Homes maintains a transparent refund process, also detailed in the signed Contract of Sale. The process begins with a written refund request, upon which we provide a Refund Form for completion and return. In addition, clients are required to return all contractual documents before the account can be closed and a refund cheque issued.

Despite multiple reminders and official communications, Mr. Akinbo and his legal representative have not fulfilled these requirements, thereby delaying the refund process.

Regrettably, FIJ failed to present a balanced report by not including Adron Homes’ side of the story. While the publication claims to have made prior contact, our official position was not reflected in the final article. This approach undermines the core values of ethical journalism and has resulted in the spread of false and damaging narratives about our organization.

In light of these developments, Adron Homes & Properties Ltd. formally demands the immediate removal of the misleading article from all FIJ platforms. We also request a formal retraction, a public apology, and the publication of a follow-up article that accurately reflects our position and corrects the misinformation circulated.
