NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS BUKKY FAGBUYI OPENS UP ON INDUSTRY PRESSURE AND HARASSMENT, SAYS FRIENDS URGE HER TO MARRY BEFORE 40

Nollywood actress Asiwaju Bukky Fagbuyi is getting real about life as a single woman and the mounting pressure from her inner circle to walk down the aisle before she turns 40.

In a candid chat on the Biola Adebayo Ent YouTube show hosted by Dr. Biola Adebayo, the Yoruba movie star revealed that friends and family have been urging her to find love fast and tie the knot immediately.

“Everyone keeps telling me to just find someone who loves me and marry him the same day,” Bukky said. “But marriage is not something to rush into. It can turn sour if you don’t take your time and think it through.” But that’s not all she had to say.

The actress didn’t hold back when discussing the darker side of the movie industry—specifically the sexual harassment she’s faced from fellow actors.

“Some people think it’s normal, but it’s not. If you’re told to sleep with someone before getting a role, that’s harassment,” she explained. “One actor told me directly that I wouldn’t progress in the industry if I didn’t sleep with him.

Bukky also revealed how rejecting those advances led to being blacklisted by some of her colleagues.

“There were actors who said they wouldn’t feature in any movie that included me, just because I refused to sleep with them,” she said. “Even one journalist who’s close to the actor called me, trying to convince me but I told him flat-out, I’ll never do it.”

Despite these challenges, Bukky Fagbuyi continues to stand her ground, choosing her values over shortcuts. Her story is not just a glimpse into the life of a strong woman in Nollywood it’s a reflection of what many others face behind the scenes.

As she looks to the future, fans are rooting for her not just in love, but in life and career.
