NEWS FLASH: OSUN LONG-SERVING REP. MEMBER, HON. OLUWOLE OKE RESIGNS FROM PDP

A long-serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Oluwole Oke, representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oke, who has served multiple terms in the Green Chamber and is regarded as one of the most experienced lawmakers from Osun State, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP, dated April 20, 2025.

While the reason for his resignation was not detailed in the letter, sources close to the lawmaker hinted that the decision may not be unconnected to recent developments within the party at both state and national levels.

“I thank the party for the platform and support given to me over the years,” Oke stated briefly in his letter, adding that his decision came after deep reflection and wide consultations.

The development has triggered reactions among political observers and constituents, as speculations rise about his next political move — whether he plans to join another party or run for a different office in the coming elections.

Oke’s exit marks a significant shift in Osun PDP’s internal dynamics, given his political influence and long-standing role in the party’s structure.

The PDP leadership is yet to issue an official statement in response to his resignation.
