DELTA WOMEN EMPOWERED AS FG FLAGS OFF ‘RENEWED HOPE’ PROGRAMME

Thousands of women in Delta State received a boost on Tuesday as the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs, launched the Renewed Hope Women’s Empowerment Programme in Asaba. The initiative, flagged off by Women Affairs Minister, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, saw beneficiaries receive 50kg bags of rice, solar home systems, and fabrics.

The minister assured the women of continued federal support, emphasizing that under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership, Delta women would be at the forefront of national development.

She described the distributed items—particularly the solar systems—as “bridges to opportunity,” aimed at enhancing household energy access, health, security, and economic productivity, especially for women-owned microbusinesses.

Delta State Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, pledged the state's commitment to supporting federal programs, describing the APC-led initiatives as life-changing and inclusive.
