The Aquinas College Akure Old Students Association (ACAOSA) has elected Otunba Sola Adewumi as the new National Worldwide President in a keenly contested election held at the Aquinas College school premises in Akure on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Otunba Adewumi secured 353 votes to defeat Prince Adeleke Emoruwa, who polled 268 votes, marking the beginning of a new leadership era for the alumni association.
The election was part of the 2025 ACAOSA Convention, which saw old students returning to their alma mater decades after graduation. It was conducted smoothly, with votes cast both physically and online, reflecting a transparent and inclusive process.
A highlight of the events before the election was the Gala Nite held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Heritage Continental Hotel, Ijapo, Akure, in honour of the outgoing National Worldwide President, Rtd. Hon. Justice Adesuyi Olateru Olagbegi. The event was filled with dancing, music, and heartfelt tributes, celebrating his impactful tenure and the unity of the ACAOSA family.
In his victory speech, Otunba Sola Adewumi expressed gratitude to ACAOSA members for their trust and pledged to enhance alumni engagement, support the college, and build on the achievements of past administrations.
With the 2025 ACAOSA Convention concluding, members left with a renewed sense of unity, ready to support the association's vision under the new leadership.
