The Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Bola Shobowale, has passed away following a long battle with illness. Her death comes just three days after Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appointed Vice Chairman Oladipupo Oluwaloni as Acting Chairman to address the leadership vacuum caused by her prolonged absence.
Shobowale had been out of office for nearly a year due to health challenges, leading to concerns about governance in the LCDA. Despite her illness, she was widely respected for her dedication to grassroots development and community engagement during her tenure.
Her leadership saw significant improvements in infrastructure, social welfare programs, and economic empowerment initiatives within Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA. Residents and political figures have expressed their condolences, remembering her as a committed leader who prioritized the welfare of her community.
With Oluwaloni now in charge, stakeholders remain hopeful that the council will build on Shobowale’s legacy and maintain stability. The state government and LCDA administration are expected to release further details regarding burial arrangements and official tributes in the coming days.
