GLO FOUNDATION EXTENDS FOOD RELIEF INITIATIVE, BRINGING HOPE TO LAGOS COMMUNITIES

In a determined effort to combat food insecurity and support underprivileged families, Glo Foundation has launched a nationwide food relief initiative, with its first stop at the Ilaje community in Bariga, Lagos State.

Partnering with Lagos Food Bank Initiative, the foundation distributed essential food items and other valuable supplies to thousands of residents, particularly women and vulnerable families. The distribution took place at Love Lagos Jetty, Bariga, leaving beneficiaries overwhelmed with joy and gratitude.

Each food pack contained a well-curated mix of nutritious staples and household essentials, including: Rice, Garri, Spaghetti, Noodles, Tomato paste, Sardines, Salt, Vegetable oil, Seasoning cubes, Toothbrushes

Recipients expressed heartfelt appreciation for the gesture, singing and offering prayers for Glo Foundation’s continued growth.

Speaking at the event, Jumobi Mofe-Damijo, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Globacom, reaffirmed the foundation's dedication to empowering communities and supporting the less privileged. "This initiative is part of our long-term commitment to fighting hunger, uplifting families, and making a real difference in people's lives. We are expanding this program to reach more communities across Nigeria," she stated.

Many recipients of the food packs shared how the initiative had come at a critical time, offering much-needed relief.

Abiola Oladunjoye, an unemployed mother, expressed deep appreciation: "I really appreciate this. May the Almighty continue to protect and bless Glo for remembering us in this difficult time."

Amarachi Peter, a cook, and Eunice Kehinde, a hairdresser, echoed similar sentiments: "Feeding my family has been tough lately. With this food pack from Glo, we have something to eat for the next few weeks. This means a lot to us!" – Eunice Kehinde

Commending the initiative, Michael Sunbola, Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank Initiative, applauded Glo Foundation’s investment in tackling hunger. "This is an excellent example of corporate responsibility. We encourage other organizations to join hands in supporting similar interventions."

The Glo Foundation food relief initiative will continue its outreach next Saturday in another Lagos community, before expanding to other cities across Nigeria.

Through this nationwide food drive, Glo Foundation is not just distributing food—it is spreading hope, restoring dignity, and making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable Nigerians.
