As part of activities marking his third anniversary in office, Governor Charles Soludo has inaugurated the 10.8-kilometer Nkwo Oraifite to Nkwo Nnewi Road, popularly known as Agba Ụzọ Ịnọ, a strategic development aimed at enhancing connectivity and reducing transportation challenges in Anambra State.
The newly constructed road links the Owerri Expressway through Nkwo Oraifite to Nkwo Nnewi, ensuring seamless movement of people, goods, and services while boosting economic activities in the region.Governor Soludo also officially flagged off the 5.8-kilometer Orafite Civic Centre to Onitsha Express Road. This crucial road had been devastated by erosion, with portions collapsing into gulleys as deep as 22 meters. His administration’s quick intervention has already begun yielding remedial results, preventing further environmental degradation.
Speaking on the importance of the newly commissioned projects, Governor Soludo emphasized that these roads will provide long-term solutions to flooding and erosion, which have long troubled communities in the area.
He urged contractors to maintain high-quality construction standards and ensure timely completion, noting that his administration has awarded contracts for 750 kilometers of road construction, out of which 420 kilometers have been completed. The state currently boasts a monthly road completion rate of 12 kilometers, a pace that reflects the government's commitment to rapid infrastructure growth.
Governor Soludo’s transformative projects have received widespread praise from community leaders and stakeholders, who acknowledged his unprecedented achievements in Anambra’s history.
Sir Emeka Offor, a prominent business leader and philanthropist, commended the governor for his unwavering dedication to infrastructural development in Orafite and Anambra State at large. He pledged his continued support, urging citizens to back Soludo’s vision for sustainable progress.
Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, Commissioner for Works, highlighted the devastating impact of erosion on residents, noting that many families had been displaced before Soludo’s decisive intervention. He reassured the public that the government remains committed to tackling erosion and improving road networks across the state.
Mayor Chimezie Obi of Ekwusigo Local Government Area and Sir Vin Dike, President General of Orafite, also praised the governor for constructing six major roads within their local government area. They described his achievements as unmatched in Anambra’s history and expressed strong support for his re-election bid.
Governor Soludo reaffirmed his dedication to delivering more impactful projects, urging Anambra residents to continue supporting his administration. He assured them that transformational development across sectors remains his priority as he works towards building a livable, prosperous, and globally competitive Anambra State.
