GOVERNOR SOLUDO COMMENDS NDI ANAMBRA FOR SUPPORTING NEW SECURITY INITIATIVES

Governor Charles Soludo has expressed deep appreciation to the people of Anambra State (Ndi Anambra) for their unwavering support of his administration’s security reforms, which have led to the enactment of the Anambra State Homeland Security Law and the establishment of Agunechemba and Operation Udo Ga-Achi—two security initiatives designed to enhance public safety.

Soludo praised community leaders and residents for their collaboration in tackling criminal activities, emphasizing that their collective efforts have played a crucial role in the state’s fight against insecurity.

According to the State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, Governor Soludo and the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) have reiterated their commitment to strengthening security without infringing on cultural and traditional beliefs.

The council reassured traditional worshippers that the fight against fetishism and sorcery is aimed at curbing criminal activities, particularly against fraudulent native doctors who promote “wealth without work” and exploit people through the sale of local charms like Oke-Ite and other ritual items.

Since its January launch, Operation Udo Ga-Achi (which means Peace Shall Reign) has been making significant strides in complementing the efforts of existing law enforcement agencies.

The operation has led to the arrest of kidnappers, demolition of criminal hideouts, and successful raids in notorious areas such as Ozubulu, Isiagu, Oba, and Nnewi. Authorities have also apprehended criminals responsible for the murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, who represented Onitsha North State Constituency I.

Before Governor Soludo's administration, eight Local Government AreasAguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North, Orumba South, and Ogbaru—were under siege due to rampant insecurity. However, with the new security strategies in place, these areas have now been liberated, restoring peace and stability.

Governor Soludo reaffirmed that security, law, and order remain the cornerstones of his administration’s vision for a livable and prosperous homeland. He assured Ndi Anambra that his government would remain relentless in ensuring the safety of lives and property, paving the way for sustainable development in the state.
