Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has been named The Sun Newspaper's "Man of the Year 2024" in recognition of his transformative leadership and outstanding achievements in governance. The award highlights his commitment to infrastructure development and the overall transformation of Anambra State within a short period.
The prestigious award will be officially presented to Governor Soludo on March 1, 2025, during a ceremony in Lagos.Known for his visionary leadership and solution-oriented approach, Governor Soludo, often referred to as "Mr. Fixer," "Mr. Reformer," and "Mr. Jinx Breaker," has spearheaded numerous projects aimed at making Anambra a livable and prosperous state. His administration’s achievements include significant investments in infrastructure across the state's 21 local government areas, as well as initiatives in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and seed capital programs.
In a statement issued by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, The Sun Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh, accompanied by other editors, formally presented the award letter to Governor Soludo during a visit to Awka on Friday.
The selection, described as purely merit-based, followed a rigorous evaluation process by The Sun's management team. Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to the newspaper for recognizing his administration’s efforts, reiterating his commitment to furthering the state's development.
