OGUN BUSINESS ICON AND SOCIALITE, PRINCESS KHADIJAT EDIONSERI, AKA CASH MADAM, PASSES AWAY AT 89

Prominent Ogun State-born businesswoman and socialite, Princess Khadijat Adebisi Edionseri, fondly known as "Cash Madam," has passed away at the age of 89.

Her death was confirmed in a statement by one of her sons, Dr. Adebayo Adebowale, on behalf of the family. According to him, their matriarch passed away on January 5, 2025, after a brief illness.

The statement reads:

“With deep gratitude to Allah for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), who returned to her Creator on January 5, 2025, at the age of 89.

“Her life was a shining example of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. Princess Edionseri touched the lives of many through her wisdom, kindness, and dedication to both her family and her community. She taught us the importance of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

“As we grieve this monumental loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived. Her laughter, warmth, and the values she instilled will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us as we navigate life without her physical presence.”


The family further announced that the funeral will take place according to Islamic rites on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM at her residence in Abeokuta GRA. They prayed for Allah's forgiveness of her shortcomings and for her to be granted Jannatul Firdaus.

Princess Khadijat Edionseri, widely known for her significant contributions to business and society, held the esteemed titles of Iyalaje and Iya Suna of Egbaland. Her entrepreneurial acumen and philanthropic efforts earned her immense respect across the state and beyond.

Notable personalities have begun extending their condolences to the family, acknowledging the impactful life she led.

Princess Edionseri, who would have turned 90 in April, leaves behind a legacy of grace, resilience, and service that will be remembered for generations to come.
