Wema Bank, Nigeria's leading innovative financial institution and the pioneer of Africa's first fully digital bank, ALAT, has revealed plans for the grand finale of its flagship tech competition, Hackaholics 5.0. Scheduled for November 27, 2024, the event will showcase Nigeria’s brightest tech innovators under the theme “Meta Idea: Capitalizing Africa’s Growth Through Innovation.”
ABOUT HACKAHOLICS
Launched in 2019, Hackaholics serves as a platform for Nigerian youth to transform their tech-driven ideas into impactful solutions. This year’s edition emphasizes how technology can unlock Africa’s development potential through innovation and digital transformation.
The grand finale will host innovators from universities and tech communities nationwide, pitching solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges and contributing to Africa’s socio-economic growth. After months of rigorous competition and mentorship, the event will be a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit.

PRIZES AND OPPORTUNITIES
The Hackaholics 5.0 grand finale offers ₦75 million in prizes:
₦30 million for the winning team
₦20 million for the first runner-up
₦15 million for the second runner-up
₦10 million in grants for the best female-led team, promoting gender diversity in tech.
Winners will also gain access to Wema Bank's vast network of investors, mentors, and industry experts to scale their innovations globally.
NATIONWIDE REACH
Hackaholics 5.0 received 2,297 applications and engaged over 10,000 aspiring tech innovators across eight physical pitch centers and one virtual pitch center. The top 34 innovators will present their ideas at the pre-pitch stage before the grand finale in Lagos.
