The Head of Agency Banking at MoneyMaster, Nigeria's leading payment service bank, Julius Arhebun, has reiterated that promoting financial inclusion remains one of the organization’s core mandates.
Arhebun made this statement as the bank introduced a new 100MB data bonus offer for every transaction made using its USSD banking code, *995#. The initiative, available to Glo customers, aims to incentivize the unbanked and underbanked population, making it easier for them to create their own mobile wallets via MoneyMaster’s USSD platform.
According to Arhebun, the offer builds on the financial education campaigns the bank has been providing online and at various customer touchpoints.
He added:
"With this new 100MB offer, we aim to encourage Nigerians in the unbanked and underbanked pools to achieve financial inclusion by opening at least a mobile wallet. The account number for this wallet is derived from their mobile phone number, making it easy to recall."
