ANAMBRA CONFIRMS PAYMENT OF N70,000 MINIMUM WAGE, REFUTES MEDIA EXCLUSION CLAIMS

Anambra State has confirmed the payment of the new N70,000 minimum wage to its workers, dispelling media reports that excluded the state from the list of states implementing the directive.

In a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, the government clarified that Governor Charles Soludo began the payment in October 2024, aligning with Federal Government directives aimed at improving workers’ living standards.

The statement emphasized the administration's commitment to workers’ welfare, noting, “Governor Soludo has always remained a labor-friendly governor. Workers in Anambra State have not only received the new minimum wage but also continue to receive salary alerts on or before the 25th of every month.”

The government also highlighted that the governor’s efforts extend to pensioners, with an upward adjustment of pensions ensuring a higher take-home for retirees.

The administration reassures Anambra State workers of its continued commitment to their well-being and urges the public to disregard any reports suggesting otherwise.
