ITF WARNS NIGERIANS AGAINST FAKE ‘BOYS INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INITIATIVE’

The Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, has distanced the agency from a fraudulent program advertised online as the "Boys Industrial Training Initiative 2024 Undergraduate Technical Internship."

DG ITF, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun

Despite its professional appearance and the misuse of the ITF logo, authorities confirm that this initiative is entirely fictitious. No legitimate internship or scholarship program exists under this title. The organization behind the advertisement is misleading the public with non-existent opportunities, including fabricated details about application procedures and deadlines.

The ITF offers various genuine programs, including research and development, direct training, curriculum design, student industrial work experience schemes (SIWES), technical and vocational skills development, ICT training, and support services for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Currently, the ITF is focused on its Skill Up Artisan (Supa) program, aiming to train and certify 10 million Nigerian artisans in 20 different trades, enabling them to work both locally and internationally.

The ITF strongly advises the public to ignore this deceptive advertisement and to verify the legitimacy of any internship or scholarship before providing personal information to avoid falling victim to scams.

Please kindly channel all enquiries regarding activities of the ITF to the industrial training fund official Website https://www.itf.gov.ng/ for any update or clarification, or call 08097772103, 08097772104, 08097772105, 08097772106.
