ENTERTAINMENT: CHIKE, L.A.X, OTHER STARS ON GLO-POWERED AFRICAN VOICES CHANGEMAKERS 

This week, five stars on the African music scene will be on the CNN International magazine show, African Voices Changemakers. The programme is sponsored by telecommunications giant, Globacom.

These include Nigerian songwriter, singer and actor, Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, simply known as Chike; Damilola Abdul Rasak Afolabi, also known as L.A.X, a signee of Starboy Entertainment; Candy Bleakz, a gifted singer and rapper whose real name is Blessing Akiode; Ekeh Chiaka Joseph, better known as Majeeed; and Wendy Shay, a singer from Ghana.

The 31-year-old Chike, a graduate of Covenant University, rose to fame after competing in a reality TV series. He has also been involved in acting. The Glo ambassador is well-known for hits, including his 14-track first album Boo of the Booless, which earned him the 2020 City People Music Award's Album of the Year title.

The 31-year-old L.A.X holds a master's degree from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He began his career as a rapper with Flybois, a group of three. Though Rapper Candy Bleakz joined Chocolate City Music in 2020, her career as a musician began in 2013 with her debut album "Blessing Sky." Majeeed, on his part earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication     s from Iscom University in the Republic of Benin. "Gee for Life" and "Rocky Lo," two promotional singles, marked the beginning of his musical career.

Wendy Shay, 28, a Ghanaian certified nurse, is also on the show this week. She honed her musical abilities at a music school in Bernhausen, Germany. Her career began in 2018 with her debut hit, "Uber Driver."

The show will be on air on Saturday at 8.30 a.m. on DSTV Channel 401. It will be rebroadcast at noon the same day and on Sunday at 4.30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday at 4 a.m., and Saturday of the following week at 8.30 a.m. and 12 noon. Furthermore, it will also be on air again on Sunday at 4.30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. as well as Monday at 4 a.m.
